Like many other roles, human resources will evolve in the future but continue to be needed. When large firms think about the future, they often come to the conclusion that they will need significantly less people than they have today but also that they do not have many of the people they will need tomorrow.
This double challenge of reducing the workforce in light of automation but at the same time hiring the people to build and maintain the emerging business model will give human resources a critical role.
